Erika Tan

Cast was produced during Erika Tan’s residency in Shanghai and was made in response to the sensations Tan experienced on encountering one of the particular features of the city. At night parks are illuminated with a green light, creating an incandescent glow. The lighting transforms the open spaces, and the resulting film has the potential to act as a trigger to the audience to connect with their own perception and experience.

Commissioned for Reassurance and shot whilst on an Artist Links Residency (ACE) in Shanghai, China. Shown at Triangle at Space Gallery, London and Manchester Chinese Art Centre Gallery as part of Reassurance.
